The 2010 spring shearing festival at Valley Shepherd Creamery...

Our ewes will be all wooly and ready for shearing May 8th. We will be shearing all day! ...and there will be heritage crafts, musicians and more! Advanced ticket sale started in January. Admission is $10 per adult and $6 per child 10 and under (babes in arms are free).

We want to make sure there is room for everyone to view the shearing, enjoy the music and food, so we will limit ticket sales to our capacity.

Step into the main barn to watch the shearing. We have almost 550 to shave down and Don is getting older and cranky but we think that he should be able to clip maybe 100 and beat last year's record.





With over 600 pregnant and due, somewhere in our barn, a ewe will be in labor and maybe you can witness a new arrival.





Enjoy a taste of farmstead cheeses. At least a dozen will be out for tasting. Here is a listing of most of them

Several spinners- turning our wool into yarn.





Kevin the Blacksmith, in his own shed, pounding iron into usable stuff.





At the kids crafts table, make something from wool we just sheared and washed, maybe a wooly sheep using a cardboard roll and wool?





The weaver will be working the loom...





The woodcarvers will be making some unique items like steam bent pitchforks, wooden toys and more.







Gellato - (the real stuff) will be made on the hour from fresh milk.





Dr. Sam Moyer, Geneticist and the Jersey Jerry Broomsquire will be making brooms!!





Elisa Kessler the basket maker artist will be demonstrating how baskets are made.






Pig Roast (yum)- Hotdogs - Hamburgers.
